With R3.2 and Matlab 14a 64 bit, after some digging, I found out that the problem is that the R(D)COM license is expired. Unfortunately there is no Matlab scrollbar component provided, and embedding a Java-based scrollbar won't work. Maybe uihtml will open up some more possibilities.
